Earth Friendly Beach Bag

I'm not really knitting it, but it's still a good project. I'm crocheting an Earth Friendly beach bag. It's made out of Grocery Bags! I'll post a picture when it's all done! But it's really cool and really easy to make!

While waiting for my husband's during his day surgery last year I visited with another woman waiting for her husband's in day surgery!

She was "knitting" plastic grocery sacks! She cuts them into strips and ties them together...winds the strips into balls...and knits them!

They become big bowls for the floor, waste baskets, totes, etc.

They were very beautifully done!

I've gotta remember to do this!

They are having a workshop of how to do this on Earthday at my local YMCA. They call it Plarn (plastic yarn). they have lots of great patterns on Ravelry.

Can't wait to see your finished project, it's a great idea.
