I know this is a very basic question for most of you, but still learning here. I'm trying to read a very beginner easy pattern, and the instructions after cast on row are *knit 2, knit into the back of the next stitch, purl 1, repeat from *.
Okay my questions are 1) is there a video to show how to knit into the back of the stitch, and 2) why is that part of the instructions unerlined.?
I tried a couple of times what I thought might be knitting into the back of the stitch, but can't seem to figure it out.
I've pretty much taught myself the basic stitches by watching the videos of this site.
It's underlined to set it off so you do knit into the back to twist the st. Each st has a leg over the front of the needle that you usually knit into, and a back leg. There is a video for it on the Glossary page under ktbl.
Thanks, I've been browsing the glossary now, each time I'm on the site I get to know better where to look for things. It has been very helpful. I now can "knit into the back"
