OH MY GOODNESS!! I am impressed. Is that intarsia? I am a beginning knitter. How long did it take you to get to where you could knit like that?

Thanks! yes, it's intarsia. I have been knitting for a very long time, but I think since I started as a child, I'm not afraid to try anything. What's the worse that can happen?

I printed out pictures onto graph paper, cut and pasted (literally) to work out the monkey/whale stuff, and went for it. I have to say, though, that in order to fit everything, it is one BIG stocking. I think a small child could be put on the mantle next Christmas.

What a cool Christmas stocking! So individual with the monkey riding the whale just for DIL. The penquins are pretty (they are what monkey saw while riding around down south). It is not easy to get a good likeness of an animal on such a small scale. You did a great job with your charts.
