What is Blocking?
Hi, I have been knitting for around 9 months and I am so loving it. I am on page 11 of the knitting tips on this website, they are so helpful, and I am reading all about neat tips for blocking. Now, I have made a felted purse, pillowcase, and so many scarfs and hats I can't even count and am now in the middle of my fiirst sweater, yeah! None of which, so far, have I blocked. Can you explain what blocking is, how it is done, why it is done? Thanks, I love this website! Diane

Blocking helps even out your stitches and shape a garment. It also opens up and reveals the beauty of lace. Not all yarns block well though. Here's a few websites that may answer some questions.
