That is positively yummy. I've seen the pattern on the cover of the book, but didn't imagine it would knit up so well (probably because your version is much nicer).

Yeah, you're right. The bottom pieces are knit separately and then seamed to the sleeves/upper body.

I'll model as soon as the weather holds! I set up my tripod in the front yard, and take timer photos...running back and forth taking photos of myself, by myself, til I get one decent one! I take horrid photos!
