How do you sew the

Sleeves to the body of the sweater....
This is my third sweater and all it tells me at the end is sew the sleeves to the body of the sweater, sew up the seams... but not how...!
The thing I'm looking for is the actual stitching to be done.
Am I right in thinking that I have to do it with right sides facing? Or do I somehow lay body of the sweater and the sleeve side by side and somehow stitch them together? I think it's supposed to be done 'invisibly' and I checked out a site I had marked to show me how to do it but I cannot make head nor tail of it...
Very frustrating!
After all this time of knitting it, I am at a standstill...
Please help me to get this thing together...

I use the little butterfly hair clips to clip the sleeve to the armseye, putting a clip every few inches. Then I use the Mattress stitch to sew them together, starting about halfway up and leaving a long enough tail to finish the other side. I find most seams are easiest to start in the middle. Don't let it freak you out. Go slowly and if you mess up, take out the stitches that don't look good and do them again. Also, I don't use yarn for finishing. It doesn't slide well. I use embroidery thread, usually two or three strands. It doesn't show at all if you stitch right, so an exact color match doesn't matter much. I learned from ArtLady who has a pictoral tutorial somewhere on the KH site.
