Hooks on a plane

Are metal hooks ok on planes? I don't think they could be used as weapons. Plastic hooks just don't work. I've tried lookin' it up on the net but can't find a clear answer.

Yes, crochet hooks and knitting needles are fine. I looked it up before I went on my flight and had absolutely no problem at the airport with my 12" long metal knitting needles.

Thank you for the information. I only have one question as I am going to England next year. The link is to an article dated 2005, is it possible the rules have changed? My friends in the UK said it was a no no for bringing them. I will have to call the airlines but if it is still in effect I will let the group know.
