Help me with yarn choice please...

I have all the colors of the new Knit Picks City Tweed DK yarn colors..take a look....

They came in a kit for a shawl but I have abandoned that project.
Now I'd like to knit this sweater with the yarn..take a look...

Do you think I can use the DK Weight yarn for this? IF the yarn they used is thicker can I just go up in needle size until I get the right gauge?

I think you could use it for that pattern. Try it on size 7s and you might get gauge. It may be a little loose, though I knit DK weight on size 9s and don't find it to be too open (not a tight knitter either, I have average tension). If it's too loose for your tastes, then try a size 6, and/or if your gauge is too small possibly make a larger size.
