FO-Bellydancing Hip Scarf
My twin does bellydancing as a hobby and is quite good. She requested a bellydancing hip scarf. So I looked for a shawl that I could convert into a hip scarf. I found used The Little Arrowhead Shawl by Pam Allen from Interweave Online. I did 2 extra repeats in order to make it long enough fit around her waist.
I used tilli thomas beaded plie silk yarn (which is yarn that is pre-beaded already). after I knitted it up I then added a beaded fringe. I first started handbeaded but it was taking SOOOOOOO LOOOOOONG. I then found a bead spinner at Joann's. which really speeded up the process. (Now my sister made her own costume and handbeaded it herself. I have soooo much respect for her. It drove me nuts just to do the fringe, never mind the beaded design)
I am happy with the final result. I think it looks like a bellydancing hip scarf and most of all she loves it. Of course though as soon as I finish knitting it though Interweave comes out with the Soirse Shawl. LOL.

Gorgeous! Hmmm.... didn't know there was such an animal as a bead spinner - I bet that really helped out!
