Decrease in stocking stitch
Working on my first project, a toddlers cardigan, and have reached the shaping shoulders section.
I'm working in stocking stitch and the instructions are to decrease 1 stitch at each end , every row.
I have done the knit row, by knit1, slip1, knit 1, pass stitch over, knit to last three stitches, knit two tog, knit one.

Is this correct and how do I do the purl row

It's every row, not every other? Then p1 p2tog, and at the end ssp (slip the 2 sts individually knitwise, then put the left needle into the front of them and purl tog) and p1 at the end.

Thanks, yes it was every row.
Glad I checked, I think I may have forgottne to reverse and done the purl 2 tog at the end of the row.

I have now finished the back of the cardigan.

So pleased, I tried to knit a long time ago and totally failed when it came to shaping, I couldn't make head or tail of the diagrams in books.
I have no family to show me how to knit , so the videos have been a great help.

Glad to know I have somewhere to come to also get my questions ansered too.

Thanks again.
