I'd like to remind everyone that we are free to express opinions here but we should adhere to the forum guidelines. A vigorous and intelligent discussion is to everyone's credit and benefit. However, please keep the debate civil and don't delve into whether one camp of voters is more intelligent than another.

We don't want to have to close this thread, but it's gotten way, WAY off topic and is getting too personal. Please reread the forum guidelines before posting.

I agree with Jeremy & Jan, however, I don't think it's gotten 'way off topic', not any more than most posts around here and besides, as Jeremy said, it's OK to discuss such things as long as people are civil in their replies. Even within same parties or churches people don't all agree 100% of the time.

The topic was about Houston's heat wave, not Obama so IMO that is way off topic. As long as everyone is considerate of other opinions we don't have a problem. Sometimes it's best just to close the topic if you have strong feelings.

We're still in a drought, so my husband sends me this FoxNews link:Indian Girls Plow Fields Naked in Attempt to Bring Rain

and tells me "please go outside "naked" and plow some. we need rain badly."

Sure. Ya!

I'm not complaining about this summer's weather here - it's been pretty mild and I hope it stays that way. I don't know about other areas of the country, but here in PA, the electric companies will be de-regulated within a year (and this was decided long before the last presidential election) and we're expecting our electric bills to double. I guess it will make me more conscious of what electricity I use - but I am definitely counting my blessings about being able to not use the AC yet this summer. (We are so much aware of this that we have been asked to turn off our computers at work at night to save electricity.)

My sister lives in Dallas and has been complaining about the heat there. They're vacationing up near Canada and looking forward to the cooler temperatures.

Need any rain? I'm tired of the rain. And there's more in the forecast!

Feel free to send Wisconsin all your heat and extra rain. We could use both! Last night on the weather, they said the average daily high for the month of July in Green Bay was 65 degrees. Normal high for this time of year is around 80. We're also running a rain deficit, too. We will happily take your extra rain!
