Help w/ a term in the pattern

Hi, I'm a new knitter and new to this form and I need help.

Row 11 of my pattern tells me to: "K4, P3, *(K2, turn, P2, turn) 3 times, K8, (turn, P2, turn K2) 3 times, P3; *2 times more, K4.

Can some one explain the "turn" to me. Since this is all in the same row and I'm not starting a new row I'm confessed.

Turn means to turn your work and work the other side. It sounds like you are working what is called "short rows". Short rows are just that..shorter than the longer row. Just follow the pattern and it should all make sense soon.

You will be starting a new row, it's just got a couple sts on it. So turn as the pattern states and just follow the instructions. After you make it through the row, it may make more sense.

Thank you for all the responses. I will try and give more details so you can help me further.

This is a pattern of a childs vest with 3 Bunnies across the front. Row 11 as I stated before has a total of 46 stitches. The pattern in row 11 is to make the bunnies front arms, in a upright position. Almost like a little bom bom effect. The total number of arms is 6, 2 per bunnie. This pattern has no web link, it's a pattern from the 1950's. If I "turn" after the first K2 I don't see how to proceed to the other stitches in working the row across to the end.

You're only turning and knitting a couple of stitches, not the whole row at this point.

"K4, P3, *(K2, turn, P2, turn) 3 times.." Okay, after the k4, p3 you would k2 sts, turn and p those same 2 sts. Then turn and knit them again, turn and purl, turn and k, turn and purl. Then turn to the knit row again and k8 (this would include the 2sts you turned and turned on). The next step is "(turn, P2, turn K2) 3 times" so you turn and p 2 of the 8 sts you knit, turn and knit them again, turn and purl, turn and knit, then go to the k3. After that you repeat everything between the * 2 more times and end the row with a k4. It may seem weird that you've got these 2 sts with 6 rows, but I think that's what makes the pom poms so just go with it.
