Double knitting

Hello everyone, it's me again with yet another question!
I have a vision of making a Hello Kitty double knit scarf which requires four colors. Is that even possible?? The scarf itself will be white and it will have Hello Kitty logos on each end of it. I guess my question is, how do you double knit with more than two colors? If that's even possible.
I would love to see any double knit work you guys have done!

I would like to learn how to do it. My LYS had a class on it but at the time I didn't have $75.00 to take it. They plan on offering it in the fall but I don't know at what cost. I have seen some work and it is better than carrying colors across the back of a garment.

I don't know. There is a DK group on Ravelry and folks have mentioned 3 color DK but I've not seen 4 color. Even the 3 color is a bit of a feat I think.

I think you need to give a little more information about what you have in mind.

Yes it can be done. How I would hold the strands would depend on what I was doing.

The DK group on Ravalry is a good suggestion. They have plenty of threads on this and FOs to give you an idea of what is possible.

I have done a double knit bag that was felted afterwards, if you go to my Ravelry projects page, it is the pirate queen booty bag. (TrunkFullOYarn).

it is very easy to switch colors, just make sure you move both strands in between your needles when switching from knit to purl.

if you do go to Ravelry and look at the pattern from my projects, there are pretty good instructions there, then I came here and watched a quick video on it!

Might be a dunb question but just are there just 4 colours in the blanket or actually 4 colours in a row?
