Photos of my homemade swift
My handy husband made this for me a couple of months ago, but I just recently got it back from my mother-in-law, who was making it pretty for me. She does one-stroke painting, and I think I now have the prettiest swift around

It was made using the directions at Crafty Diversions as a rough guide. The look of it is mostly the same, but dh made some modifications in the way the boards are pieced together in order to lower the center of gravity and make more stable so it will spin more freely (the original design I found too wobbly). It comes apart for easy storage, too, which is great.

Wow, it's gorgeous!

Much nicer to look at than the one I hacked together from clothes hanger wire, a lazy susan & trusty old duct tape
