Beanie Help
I had written perviously about a beanie Im trying to knit. So this is what I have done so far.
I casted on 80 sts. I knitted around until the bottom of th beanie was about the size of my hand and started to decrease I would knit 8 and decrease by kntting 2 together. I repeated the same pattern 10 times and then started with knitting 7 and then kntting 2 together and continued. Now I just dont know how to finish it off. Im using one long circular needle its a 10 us-33in flexiable needle.
Any suggestions as to how to finish or if Im doing this beanie properly. Im not working off of any pattern,
Thanks for the help and suggestions!!!!

Does it look like it would fit on a head? So are you doing Magic Loop? How many stitches do you have now and about how big is it?

When you get down till you have a couple rows left do the decrease rows w/o a plain row then cut the yarn about 8 in and thread a yarn needle with the tail. Take that and go through all the stitches that are left and remove the needles. Go through them again and cinch it up gently and weave in the ends. Is that what you needed?

I got fustrated and undid it =( (Bad habit I know) I had about 15 stitches left and it didnt fit the head as well as I wanted it to. When I had the 15 stitches the needle was getting in the way. Im not sure that I have a yarn needle are there any alternatives to finishing the beanie?

Well, I'm sure you learned some things that will help you with your next attempt. Don't be discouraged. You can also pull the tail through the live stitches at the very top of the hat with a crochet hook if you have one. Or I saw where someone made their own yarn needle. It looked like it would serve the purpose quite well. They made theirs out of a metal paper clip but any piece of wire would work. They folded the paperclip over to form an eye and then taped around it with masking tape to hold the eye together. Any tape would do. A bobby pin might also work in a pinch.
