Linen yarn?
Do any of the popular commercial brands made linen yarn or maybe a linen/cotton blend? I've seen linen at my LYS, but I'm wondering if there's a more economical option available at Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Jo Anns, etc.?

Not that I know of. I did a quick search and came up empty handed.

They carry organic cotton, but no linen. Knitpicks Cotlin, a cotton/linen blend is fairly inexpensive.

Yarnmarket does a reference site at http://www.yarndex.com/ -- you can put in the info on a yarn you're looking for and it will return all the yarns in its index. Rav also offers a search under the Yarn tab.
