problem with a blanket pattern
I bought this pattern booklet and I'm trying to knit a baby afghan. The directions say to cast on 175 (I have done so and checked three times just to make sure). Once I get to the body of the work it says to slip 1 as if to purl, P5, K1, *K2tog, YO, K1, YO, K2tog tbl, K1; repeat from * across to last 6 sts, then P6. I've repeated the pattern, but instead of only having 6 sts left over, I have 8. Help!?

Quite Confused,

You must have made an error somewhere, because if you follow the pattern, you end up with 6 stitches, as it says...
