Beginner pattern help needed!

I just started knitting and have so far, thanks to this wonderful site, mastered the basics on a few scrap projects. But now I'm ready to move on to my first real project with a pattern and I don't know where to begin. I don't really understand anything about patterns at all...is there someone who could recommend a simple pattern to start with? I don't really care what it is as long as you'll also be willing to walk me through it initially! Thanks in advance!
