Knit back on short rows

Hi!

I am doing a pattern (Smokin' by jared Flood) which calls for a garter stitch short row collar. I just have one small question:

When making short rows, and it says to knit back,

R1: K3, w/t
R2: Knit back

That means I knit back to the start of the stitches I just did, right? Or am I wrong. Thanks so much!

Usually short rows are outlined pretty carefully. If you are at the beginning of a row and it says to k3, w/t, then the next row says to knit back, it would be clear to the end of the stitches in front of you. In this case it sounds like only 3 stitches.

That's right, when a pattern says to knit back it means 'knit back over the sts you just did'.

I tend to use a lifeline at a point I dont understand and need to research out.
