Resizing pattern
Hi all, I'm sort of a beginner knitter. I'm ok at crochet and self-taught at knitting. I recently broke my leg and am in a cast so I want to spend my time productively and looking to work on cables, though I prefer to work on something that I can use rather then just practicing row after row.

I found this pattern, http://audm.wordpress.com/2008/11/03/evenstar-gloves/ and I fell in love.

Problem is, the pattern is for larger size wrist, and I'm actually on the smaller size.

I was hoping someone would give me tips about editing this pattern for about 6" or 36 cast on in the round, that would be totally great!

One of the easiest ways to downsize a pattern is use thinner yarn and smaller needles. The pattern uses a DK weight, so if you used a fingering/sock weight that would help. I don't know if you want to go down much in needle size for that weight, maybe a 3mm needle. If your gauge comes out at 24 sts/4" (10 cm) that might work out right.
