How NOT to de-stash!

Earlier this week I decided I needed to start another project (not that three wasn't enough!). Anyway, found a pattern, looked and found 2 skeins of matching yarn and started out KNOWING there was no way it was enough....I now have another 50.00 worth of yarn from Michael's! Actually saved the reciept in case I have any leftovers and consider returning!

I've done the same thing. Plan on using stash only only to find that I don't have enough of one color or something so I buy more.

Makes me wonder if anyone has given yarn to a knitter for christmas, or a birthday....I would love that.

I've given yarn to two of my nieces one Christmas, with a promise that I'd help them learn when they were ready. That was two years ago, and I'm still waiting. (hmm...maybe I'll try that with their little sister in a couple of years...she's only 5 right now.)
