The neck shaping reads:
"Keeping to pat
, work 8 sts and place on holder, BO to last 8 sts, k4, p4. Work in pat 3 more rows. BO.
Place sts from holder back on needle, attach yarn and complete as for other side.
Pick up 36 sts along neck edge and work K1, P1 ribbing for 5 rows. BO. "
Work 8 sts in the stitch pattern you have going already, and put those sts on a holder. Then BO until you have 8 sts left and k4, p4. Then work on just those 8 sts for 3 more rows and bind them off. Go back to the 8 sts on the holder, put them on a needle, take a new end of yarn, and do 3 more rows in the pattern and bind off.
After that, you pick up 36sts around the neck and work in ribbing for 5 rows. There's a video for picking up sts on the Tips page near the bottom.
