Starting a new skein mid project

A very simple beginner question...

I am doing a scarf that was supposed to be done in one skein...it's not. How do I add in the yarn from the next skein to begin knitting with it? I'll need to know this as I've decided that one skein projects are too simple and I'm going to be doing a sweater next.

There are many ways to do it, but what I do usually is just start knitting with it and weave in the ends or fix gaps later.

You can always tie the ends together, if there's a front and back of the pattern and you can hide the knot appropriately. But it's better the way Jan suggested. Weaving it in, or knitting it in as you go along.
