Sometimes, especially the thinner wood needles. I've never had metal or plastic ones break, not the needle itself, but the cord (cat chewed it) or it pulled out of the needle.

Oh crap. I have a kitty who likes to chew everything and attack my needles.

These were some old nylon needles; since they were a fiber, they sort of shredded. I don't know if the plastic cords will be as attractive to yours, but probably best to keep them out of the way.

I haven't had any problems with my Options or Harmony needled that I didn't cause myself. (I stepped on a size 1 Harmony and heard that sickening snap) I just bought the Harmony interchangeables for myself for Christmas and I love them! I just need to make sure to keep them off the floor!

I ordered size 13 and 15 tips and when they came I ended up with 3 13 tips and 1 15 tip... I have NO clue how it happened, but it must have been sometime during packaging. Anyway, they sent out replacement 15 tips the next day... only they misread my e-mail so they shipped out Harmony tips instead of the Options that I wanted. Just e-mailed again today and made sure to include the product number. Still waiting to hear back from them (seeing as how I just e-mailed that's to be expected)... but I know they'll make everything right!

It's weird but when contacting them in the past, I've found (and they readily tell you) that phoning gets attention much more quickly than email. Kind of sucks for me since I hate talking on the phone! But either way they will get around to it. In the end you'll have about 5 sets of 13s and 15s!

kp harmony needles
I have a set of Harmony interchangeables, and really like them . Have had one needle slip out of its metal sleeve and also a cable came out of its metal part-- a tiny drop of super glue did the trick. Haven't had the actual needles break, but i have several Brittany birch dps and a couple of them have sort of broken, got a split kind of fracture, if that makes any sense. Again, glue to the rescue!!! also a quick question--has anyone used Sirdar's bamboo/wool blend? It feels really soft and luxurious--a Christmas gift!! Thanks. linknit41
