Quick Christmas Patterns
I need to throw together a few quick last minute gifts for Christmas. I have a dishcloth pattern I like, but I'm looking for patterns/ideas for potholders or dishtowels I could put with them in a little gift basket.

Other generic knits that are quick (slippers, scarfs, etc.) would be helpful. The gifts are going to be for a secret santa type gift exchange. There will be both men and women there, and I don't know who my gift will be going to so I'd like to try a few different things if I have time and be able to choose which to put in as gifts.

Any suggestions or links to your favorite quick knits would be appreciated.

Here's a few ideas.

Mittens and fingerless mitts

Coffee cozy

Keyhole scarf

When asking questions ALWAYS post the name and a link for the pattern if you have it.

I'm doing something similar for friends. I'm using Homespun Living Debbie's waffle knit dishcloth, knit in Bernat Handicrafter Holiday Twists. They're turning out quite nicely.

I'm also knitting potholders to go with them from Lion Cotton red yarn. The pattern is on the Lion Brand website, but it's very simple. Using size 7 needles, with three strands of worsted cotton yarn held together, cast on 28 sts, and work in garter stitch (knit every row) until it measures about 8" from the beginning of your work.

When binding off, leave the last stitch on the left needle, knit it, then switch to a crochet hook and knit a hanging loop- ch 10, sl st to base st of ch.

You could also knit a mug cozy and/or some coasters.
