Need some guidance

Hi there

Can anyone help me with this particular row in a pattern.

It says (k1. P1. K1.) in next st. What does it mean in next st. or are they referring to a simple ribbing pattern??

It's a double increase stitch - knit 1, leave the st on the needle, purl into the back loop, then knit into the front leg again and you're done. Something like knit front and back, but with an extra step.
