Well, the bubbly was a little bitter. Is is supposed to be that way? I've never had it before. Oh well, the reason for finally popping it was more worth it than drinking it.

Happy New Year Eastern Time Zone.

Just finished New Years Eve party with the kids in time to join the post. I have been looking forward to this. I have a pair of socks on my needles, but have not picked them up yet tonight

Laurmb, you'll have to share what you knit out of the book with the rest of us. I can't wait to see what fun things you knit. Congrats.

there is sweet champagne and there is "dry" champagne which is probably what you have -- a little tart! As long as it was cold, I'm sure it was fine LOL. Hubby and I once had some very bad warm champagne which tasted ... just like you would imagine old socks to taste like ... horrible (had that "wet wool" smell translated into some weird taste LOL)

I know that has to feel good. For 4 years we lived off my measly paycheck. Out of that came the house payment, truck payment(paid off now) insurance for both and hubby's truck plus all the bills. It seemed there was a whole lotta month left at the end of the money. DH just started drawing his retirement and social security 2 months ago. I no longer have to rob Peter to pay Paul and there is still some in the bank. Congrats on the job

Happy New Year
Happy New Year everyone. It is officially 2010. And someone has ruined the evening at 12:00 am by not showing up. Ughh. I just finished a drop stitch scarf, now I'm heading to Ravelry to find a pattern to learn how to do something other than scarves.

Is this the place to request an entry to a drawing or is it the right time?

Welcome to our little celebration!
I haven't knit a stitch tonight either. I hit my hand on the kitchen counter as I was getting our dinner ready. Silly me! So, I'm just typing until I see how it reacts.

Gross! That sounds awful!
I'm glad our champagne is cold.

My hubby and I gave each other a very nice kiss at midnight, and welcomed 2010 by having a glass of pink champagne mixed with orange juice. A "mimosa" is the only way I like to drink champagne. I've never had the good stuff, though. I got this bottle at the grocery store for about 5 bucks.
