pattern help attatch work from stch holder

I am making an ear flap hat in the round. I made one ear flap and placed it on a stitch holder like the pattern said. I then made another one the same and cast on additional sts. The pattern states to now pick up the 1st flap from the holder. How do i atattch it to my work? Thanks in advance for any help.
