Stitch correction

Okay, I know someone has to know how to do this. I am very comfortable in dropping a stitch deliberately to "fix" a wrong stitch down the column of knitting. I tried this recently on the outer edge stitch, and found I could not do it there!

How does one drop down to correct something done wrong on the outer edge?

I had to do that, too, and it wasn't easy. For me it was trial & error and a whole lot of bad words not suitable for a knitting forum.
I hope someone else has a good answer to this one.

Of course I can't find it right now, but there is an instructional website that shows exactly how to fix dropped stitches on edges. I think it was on knitty.com? maybe?

Actually I was really mad. It was a stoopid-easy pattern and I wasn't about to let it get the best of me.

For what it's worth, trvvn5, I think yours looks a little easier to understand! I'll try it first, and if that doesn't do it, I'll try the other one. Thanks!

I can't say that it looks as beautiful as I would like, but it has been corrected. What I discovered is this:

If the knitter is using a slip the first stitch selvage edge, then just pull the big loop through the slipped stitch once and go on from there.

For the rest of us. hold the big loop outward and use it's two legs like ladder rungs to work your way up to the top.
