KH New Year's Eve Party 2010 - Prizes, Quizzes, Fun!
Hi everyone!
Every year, for New Year's Eve, I host a discussion in our forum to bring in the New Year.
This year, we will be offering PRIZES! Woo Hoo!
Since I have been blessed with such a large stash, I'll be offering some skeins of yarn, and a few knitting booklets. (Sorry I don't have any crochet books to offer, but I'm sure the yarn can be used by everyone.)
To be eligible for the prizes, just join in our discussion between 11:30 & 2:30 AM (Eastern US times), and tell me (Shandeh) to add you to the drawing. At 12:00 and 12:30 for North American time regions (Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific), I will draw a name out of a hat to determine the winner. The prizes will be random, so it's the luck of the draw what you'll get! (See prizes here.)
Winners do not have to be online at the time of the drawing. I will notify you by private message in the forum if you are a winner.
I will also ask a few quiz questions (about Knitting Help) at various times of the night for more prizes. FUN!
We will use this discussion thread, starting at 11:30 PM (Eastern US Time) on December 31st. I will stay in the discussion until 3:30 AM (Eastern US Time), until the New Year is welcomed all over the US.
The rest of you can have the New Year's Eve Party in your part of the world as well. Just log in to the forum, open this discussion, and start typing. We want to see the KH New Year all over the planet!
Feel free to post photos of your party, as well as photos of your current knit and crochet projects in the works.
Happy New Year 2010!
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you!

Thanks Pam!
I'll make an extra glass of champagne, just for the occasion.

Just a reminder that tomorrow night is our New Year's Eve party! If you plan on joining us, bring your knitting and crochet project, and your glass of bubbly to your computer. We'll welcome 2010 together, and have fun "talking" to each other.
I'll be knitting on some bulky slipper socks during our party. I need them to keep my feet warm this winter!
I'm using the " Red Hot Slipper Socks" pattern from the Lion Brand website to make my bulky slippers. I gave a pair to one of my sons for Christmas, and he loved them! So, I'm making several more pairs for family members....and for myself! I'm just grabbing different bulky yarns in my stash to make them. fun!
What will you be making, Pam?

Actually...I need to make myself slippers, too! I ended up giving away all of the ones I made this year...even the ones I was wearing!
I'll probably do the pocket book pattern...I really like it and wouldn't have to learn a new pattern.....or mess it up when it gets a little late!

I've just updated our KAL to a PARTY!
We'll still be knitting and crocheting, but I've decided to offer prizes this year, just to make it more fun. I hope this will get more of you involved! (Read about how to join here.)
Some of you might be out and about, having your own party, but I'll be stuck at home as usual. (My hubby is a restaurant manager.) I'm sure there are others of you who will be at home like me. So, let's spend New Year's Eve together, knit and crochet, and have fun.
Just so you'll know, here are the random prizes I'm giving away for our party:
1 skein Knit Picks " Felici" yarn in the color "Clay"
1 skein Lang " Tosca", color number 0152
1 skein Plymouth " Stone Cotton", color number 255
1 skein Bernat " Cottontots", in the color "Sweet Dreams"
1 skein Bertagna Filati " Icona", in a nice brown color
1 skein Bernat " Soy", in the color "Flax"
1 skein Lion " Jiffy", in the color "Taupe Mist"
Knitting Booklet - Leisure Arts " Home Decor - Afghans & Pillows to Knit"
Knitting Booklet - Leisure Arts " A Knack for Knits"
Knitting Booklet - Boye "I Taught Myself Knitting" (book only)

Sandy, this sounds like fun! Too bad we won't have the chat room!

Hi Nathalie! I'm actually glad to not have to deal with chatting. It was hard for me to knit, type, and keep my thoughts in order at the same time with the chat room. This way, I'll be able to watch television, eat, drink, type, knit, and enjoy myself more. Ha!
I don't know why I feel pressured to constantly type in a chatroom, but that's the way it goes. I feel more relaxed in a regular discussion forum.

Sounds like fun! I'll be at church when the event starts, but will try to remember to log on when I get back. Will be CO Cozy for a woman at church with stage 4 breast cancer and for the 10 Shawls in 2010 group on Ravelry. Get to co in less than 5 hours, since it starts based on Oslo time zone.
