Need a pattern for this scarf!
I found a photo of this scarf:

But the pattern that went with it is the wrong pattern.

I've tried to come up with what I think is the right pattern:

k1, p1, k1, p2, k8or10?, p1or2?, k8or10/, p2, k1, p1, k1
k1, p1, k3, p8or10?, k1or2?, p8or10?, k2, p1, k1

And cabling as appropriate (every 10-12 rows?).

Does this sound about right?

Thanks,

Zoe

You can do this however you want to.....
but in my humble opinion, looks to me like.........

3 stitch garder on both sides and mirror image cables on a reverse stockenett background...

First thing i would do tho is make those cables reversable. This is a scarf, who wants to mess with right or wrong.

Just my opinion.

And cabling as appropriate (every 10-12 rows?).

This is my take on it:
Seed stitch for 3 or 4.
Reverse stockinette stitch for 2.
Cable 4 back over 4 sts.
Reverse stockinette st for 2.
Cable 4 forward over 4 sts.
Reverse stock st for 2.
Seed stitch for 3 or 4.
The cabling occurs every 8th row.
So it comes out like this I'm writing it as seed st over 4):
Row 1: K1 P1 K1 P1 P2 K4 P2 K4 P2 K1 P1 K1 P1.
Row 2: P1 K1 P1 K1 K2 P4 K2 P4 K2 P1 K1 P1 K1.
Row 3: Repeat row 1.
Row 4: Repeat row 2.
Row 5: Repeat row 1.
Row 6: Repeat row 2.
Row 7: K1 P1 K1 P1 P2 C4B P2 K4F P2 K1 P1 K1 P1.
Row 8: Repeat row 2.

The yarn used looks like it's whatever non-ply is called-- the word is escaping me at the moment. But like Patons SWS or Debbie Mumm's Traditions. That will give you the best stitch definition, which this scarf has.
