First FOs of 2010!
I started this "Flannelghan" for my Dad back in the fall. It's originally a crochet pattern but since I prefer to knit (especially with 2 strands) I played around with the gauge and did it in stockinette. I love the way it turned out but didn't enjoy making it - plus TONS of ends to weave in and then sewing the strips together. He loves it so that's really what matters ... but I won't be making another one!

I just finished this set last night for my 5 yo niece for her birthday. Love the way it turned out. I used James C Brett Marble Chunky and LOVE the yarn. It's acrylic so will wash and dry nicely plus it is SO soft! The scarf is the Misti Alpaca Ribs & Ruffles pattern and the hat is a basic beanie pattern with a pom pom on top.

and last but not least is yet one more of my striped stash scarves.

My first FOs of 2010!

Thank you so much Dollyce. You are too funny! I chose those colors because they match his bedroom. And after all the MAGNIFICENT projects you knit, you constantly inspire me!

Were the speckled red & white blocks done by hold two strands together?

I read your notes where you said that there was a lot of seaming and weaving of ends. I wonder, could this blanket be knit all in one piece? Casting on across the row, using a different skein for each block, and then joining the 'fenceline' with the intarsia technique. Then when the first row is done, just change to different skeins, and work your way up the hill!

Teehee!

Anyway, whatever you did, you really DID IT WELL!
I'd sorta like to avoid seaming and 'ends' taking into consideration what you said!

Anyway, the burgundy and white and speckled squares were perfection! I really love it! It's simple, but beautiful! There is a lot of beauty in simplicity! "Less is more" as the old saying goes!
