italian cast on for cuffs
Hi,

When doing italian cast on.. should the needle size be 2 sizes or 1 size smaller than in the pattern? I only want a snug fit

I wouldn't go 2 sizes smaller...you could try 1...I would try just using the needle you need for the pattern. If you CO too tight its going to be hard to knit that first row and might 'cause it to pull in...but if you CO too loose the edge will be fit to loose...

I usually cast on with the same needles for the project as a whole, and cast off with one size larger. For me, this results in a square piece, i.e the tension of my cast on and cast off rows will be the same and not distort the piece either way. What experience do others have with this basic issue? Thanks...
