casting on while knitting
My pattern says to k3, cast-on 2, k3. How do I do that? The cast-on part I mean? I knit continental style.

You do it onto the right needle and can use the Backward loop, or turn your knitting, do a knit cast on and swap the needle back to your right. Look at the Cast on videos if you're not familiar with these.
