Anyone having a problem with this pattern? I can't get past the budding lace repeat! I come up with two extra stitches on rows 1 and 5.

Anyone having a problem with this pattern? I can't get past the budding lace repeat! I come up with two extra stitches on rows 1 and 5.

I just started this pattern myself yesterday. Check that you are not doing the k1 (after the * note) more than once. This stitch is the center stitch only. The first row I did, I missed this and had repeated the k1 again. Just a thought of something to check.
