How to follow the pattern

This is the pattern that is giving me a headache

Row 1: Purl
Row 2: K1, *sl 1 pw, K2, psso2, rep from * to last st, K1

Rep rows 1 and 2 for pattern

I am capable of doing row 1 and 2 but I can't repeat it because after row 2 I have less stitches than I started with and I don't know how to purl it back to the right amount.

The pattern call for 186 st but I have been practising with 11. So after doing row 2 for the first time I am left with 8 st instead of 11. How do I purl it back to 11?
