worsted socks yarn

hi all could anyone avise me on which yarn to order for "worsted weight 100% wool socks? i have a husband who is diabeltic and i find that most regular wool yarns pill and fuzz after a couple of washings.....is there any "washable wools that would work? also where do i find reinforcement threads? for the heals and toes......

Knitpicks (ad at the top of the page) has superwash worsted wool. They also have a wide range of sock yarns with nylon in them which you could double to get worsted weight.
