Some of the shortcut yo's (the ones where you went from a knit stitch to a purl stitch) will be twisted so you need to work those through the back leg. The others you should knit/purl through the front leg. Is that what you were asking?
I've used the shortcuts (thanks, Melissa!) and I really like how they look. I can never get matching yo's the other way so I'm definitely pleased. It was hard reading the twisted ones at first, but I think I've gotten the hang of it!
On a depressing note, my cable snapped off, so I lost all my work on repeat 3

Note to self, add a lifeline every 6 rows...
