Yeah...I will need that new chart...*smiles*....

I was wondering if MMario was going to be joining us!

Is the change exactly what he said...can I just write it onto my existing chart?

looking at just the right hand portion; columns 7 to 15 counting from the right.

row one, 3, 11,13,15,17,19,21,23 are all:

YO, (double decrease) YO, purl 3, YO, (double decrease), YO = 9 stitches

Row 5 and 9 are:

purl one, YO, double decrease, YO, p1, YO, double decrease, yo, = 9 stitches.

row 7 should be:

p1, ( *** ), p1 = where ( *** ) is the crossover

but is charted as p1, ( *** ), yo, p1

If your stitch order for those seven stitchs is:

gfedcba

after the crossover they will be:

O ,(c), O, d, O, (g), O

stitches dcba are held forward
yarnover
stitches gfe decrease to form (g)
yarnover
purl stitch d
yarnover
stitches cba decrease to form (c)
yarnover
stitch

Does that make sense?

Am pretty, not smart....*smiles*

As I see it, there are people who can write patterns/music/books etc...and there are people that can follow/read such things.

I can follow a pattern...(though former posts would suggest otherwise) but I can't transpose thoughts from my head to the page, or transfer them to paper. As long as it says what it is supposed to...I will get through it...

It's not "smart" versus "not smart"; it's just different abilities; different viewpoints; different approaches.

Wierdly - one can sometimes look at one's own work and "see" what one intended - instead of what is actually written. (As I have seen, to my humiliation, over and over and over. Did you know 1 + 2 = 4?)

That is where having OTHER PEOPLE as proof readers, proof knitters and testers comes in incredibly handy.
