I have 18 patterns! I can finally tell I'm making progress! I'm going to wait for a photo until I get the first corner done, if you all can wait until tomorrow night????

I'm too tired to see to knit anymore tonight (it's 8 pm here in Tennessee!), so I'm going to bed but I'll be up early in the morning

Oh Melissa! You have me hooked on Lace

I really liked making the center panel, but I am LOVING the border! Something about DPs that always turns me on And watching it go together and actually being able to DO IT is amazing! I am so, so happy that I found you guys and that you let me participate If you are going to learn lace, this is the way!

As for being tired, I'm right there with you. Wyatt is 3 1/2 and I am.... wait for it..... 59! He comes to my house at 7 every week day morning and he leaves between 6 and 7 at night. I have really long days! Now you know why I go to bed at night before he does

Now I have to decide whether the shawl is my belated birthday gift (April 2), my belated anniversary gift (April 7 was our 40th) or my Mother's Day gift! I always love my gifts to myself Or..... My Mom is almost 83 and I could give it to her for Mother's Day. Decisions, decisions

It's 5:30 am here and I'm getting ready to do a couple of rows before the tornado gets here! Talk to you all in a while!

Ok I want to share with the group....I just made this, this past week.

I DONT like the fastener....hubby says its just cuz of the bumps on the button.

I would take any suggestions. I have orders for 2 of these already.

Go Kathy!! Congrats on your birthday and your anniversary!

Melissa, very cute bag

I've been to the doctor and I won't be blocking for at least another week Meanwhile, the shawl just sits there, staring at me, begging to be blocked. It's torture! Torture, I tells ya!!!!

Oops, sorry. I'm blaming the muscle relaxants for this latest brain fart... I agree with Crycket that the pattern is more suitable for an intermediate/advanced level knitter. It's not hard, per se, and your instructions are very clear, but there's a lot going on: lace, cables, lace cables!, working lace pattern on both sides, knitted-on border, and grafting. It's obviously not a mindless knit and it definitely helps to be familiar with several stitches and techniques.

MMario... yeah, I think it should be a birthday gift from me to me And tell me, on my limited budget, what could I make with one skein of vicuna? I would have said 1/4 a skein but I'm sure they wouldn't sell it to me that way!

I just turned the corner I'll get a photo later when the tornado takes his nap!

Even though I'm not done yet, I agree that this pattern takes some experience with lace, cables and knitting on borders. The cables didn't bother me (except for the fact that I can't count!) because I have done regular cables for years. The border wasn't hard after I figured it out, but it will be heaps easier the next time I do one. And of course the only grafting I have done is the toes of socks. Love doing kitchener! I'll probably need some help when I get that far.
