Swifts... ?
ok, so i am curious I was looking at designs for making your own swift, and I can't figure out how they turn into cakes. I have a feeling that this may be a very stupid question, but I would be pleased to be enlightened!

The swift doesn't do that it just holds the yarn. You need a ball winder to wind it into cakes. Click the Knitpicks ad and you can find one there.

When asking questions ALWAYS post the name and a link for the pattern if you have it.

We also have an ad on the stash page for Oregon Woodworkers who do handmade swifts. They have some ball winders for sale as well, including some impressive looking electric ball winders
