circular knitting

Except for a couple of afghans, I have never knitted anything. I'm going to try a basic, easy (or so the pattern says LOL) Berroco top/shell. I read somewhere that when you use circular needles, you knit every row, because you're always having the right side face you. Is that true? Thanks for the help.

Yes, if you are knitting in the round then the right side of the knitting is always facing you and so knitting every round will will produce a stockinette stitch fabric.

If you knit in the round, you knit every row to get stockinette. But if you're knitting flat, you knit the same as you do on straights.
