how do you knit socks of circular needles?

I have tried and I can't seem to do it I want to learn how. I have made socks on DPN'S ,now I want to be able to say ' I have made socks on circular needles'

Anyone have a link to a video that will show me how to do it. I've read a pattern on knitting socks in the round ,but I am not getting it

Are you trying to use two circulars or use Magic Loop which is one long circular?

I don't knit socks myself, but when my youngest sister started using magic loop instead of dpns she placed stitch markers were the junction between 2 dpns would have been and just followed the patern

I haven't tried socks yet, but it's on my list of things to do. I did learn how to do magic loop and used it for baby booties, pantlegs, and even the top of a baby hat, so I know it will do the job. It's easy once you get the hang of it, and it's really nice to only need one circular needle.

I got this book from the library - http://www.knitpicks.com/2-at-a-time+Socks_BD31045.html and it has a really good tutorial and the patterns looked easy to follow. Of course the book is due back before I get a chance to try it out, but it had a lot of pictures and detailed directions and I was able to learn a lot just by reading the tutorial.

One more thing...I followed the directions in the socks book (the link I gave you above) on how to put two loops on one needle, and it's not too hard...the trickiest part was keeping the yarn and cables untangled, but I can see how it could be efficient in the long run. Anyway, just wanted to give you a head's up that if you want to try two socks on one needle, I think it's easier to learn basic magic loop first, like make one sock on one needle to start, and then when you feel like you have that down, then work with two things on the same needle. Less confusing that way.

Thank you all for the information you all have givin. I have tried to do both two circulars and Magic Loop. But I haven't got past the first row.

personally, i think 2 circs is much easier than magic loop... just my opinion tho!

I still have hard time with the first three rows or so on magic loop, but after that the tube quits twisting as much so it's easier to keep track of where you're at. Just remember that the working yarn is on the back cord and the outside of your project is facing you on the front needle, if that makes sense. On my first magic loop project I got confused and ended up knitting part of it inside out, so now I just always remember...working yarn on the cord, front facing me on the needle!

there is a magic loop online class i think starting in august at fuzzylamb.com, i finished a class with christina and she's brilliant. the class was great. i have made 2 pairs so far and will be making loads more its such fun and quick too bout.
