Hi friends,

Emmelyn made it through her first week just fine. She's tired and frustrated with her team teacher (the English/Language teacher; Em teaches math/science/social studies) who was moved from another school against her will and seems to be taking her frustration out on Emmelyn. Thankfully, Emmelyn's mentor and other teachers are very supportive.

Emily, great pic! I have no name ideas for you. Sorry! Your family's suggestions made me LOL.

Carla, good to hear from you! What have you been up to?

I'm having a (not so) lovely day. Tomorrow I have a colonoscopy and endoscopy so I get to do the prep for it today. Yuck. Hopefully, I'll get some answers to my pain episodes, though, and hopefully, it's nothing serious.

Hope you're all well! Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi Carla! Good to hear from you!

Gina - hope everything goes well tomorrow.

I did settle on a name for my bird. He is now Copper, short for Copernicus. He loves sitting on my shoulder, but doesn't like to be petted. However, he is very polite and does not bite. He's still very nervous. He will flap his wings and lean away if I move my hand towards him too fast, and if I do something too unexpected, he'll jump off of my arm. He's badly clipped so he pretty much drops to the floor and gives me a heart attack when that happens.

This weekend is sewing weekend! Teenie's quilt should be done (FINALLY) this week; my blue-jeans quilt top is almost done; and I have a pair of boxers that will probably go in the mail Tuesday. Hopefully they fit; I had to get creative.

School is also underway. My stats class is, as expected, boring as. Remote Sensing is going to be freaking awesome, though. The class is set up as a group research project, intended such that by the end of the semester we could, theoretically, have something to publish, and if we do, we will! We're studying defoliation of the Apostle Islands by gypsy moths... And, best of all, there is probably going to be a kayaking trip to the study area next summer, for 'research purposes.'

yes!
We gave Brian's dad & step mom the pic last night & they didn't get it. So we just left it alone, we're going to see how long it takes them to "get it."

Baby is due May 3rd (same due date I had with Jacob & he came 4-12) so I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow.

thanks! I think they just over looked it, the conversation went like this:
them: o isn't that sweet!
me: thanks, can you read Katie's t-shirt?
them: yes, that's a hoot. lol
that was it, no more was said. I figured it'd be pretty clear, guess not? THat's why I posted it on here, to see if y'all got it. As soon as my folkes know I'll post the pic on fb too, just like here and see if anyone on there catches on.
