Julie, your shawl is BEAUTIFUL! Your ornaments are adorable! (Now go study. You don't need a shawl to keep you sane. You need to study. Some knitting that takes no concentration, okay. But not lace!) (I'm not your mother, I'm your study coach!) Connect what you're learning with SOMETHING in your head!

I STILL have very little voice. It's driving me (and DH) crazy. I started a new round of antibiotics yesterday. Maybe that will help, but I'm not counting on it! I'm supposed to sing in church tomorrow. Oh well. They will have to get along without me unless a miracle occurs.

How are the rest of you doing? I miss reading your posts!

Yes maam! (actually I could just bareley hear you, eh? jk. I read that imagining what your little voice sounded like, I'll shut up now before I loose mine.)

I've been good, studying lots, just when the kids are up and asking me tons of questions and making noise I really cant study, they're sleeping now, I'm awake and so I'm going to study some now too. I studied for almost 4 hours yesterday, no knitting. I also figured out that to pass the class I need a 63% on the final, hoping for a 90% or better, so we'll see.

I finally have my first pair of socks almost done. All that's left is grafting the toe. No second sock syndrome this time around. It only took 3 weeks to knit the pair. I'm so happy to finally figure out what was causing all my socks to not fit. Apparently I knit tight enough for things to qualify as bullet-proof.

LOVE the socks! Did you go up a needle size to get the sizing right?

Julie, keep studying! I know four hours a day is hard with the kids, but it's the minimum you should be studying! You don't need a four-hour block....ten-30 minutes here and there to TOTAL four hours, refreshing your memory each time is actually BETTER for long-term recall.

Julie, I don't know! I'm thinking the octopus socks from "Thinking Outside the Sox" book for the babies...but for me...I have so many patterns to choose from.

Gina...I did! I totally forgot that I went up a needle size.

Lovely socks!
And Julie - just keep studying, it'll all be over soon. For a few weeks at least. (headdesk because I should be studying too)
Gina- hope your voice is better.

I'm knitting, at least. I'm making a hat for my brother's girlfriend, then I have to make a pompomless earflap hat for Teenie. I think this may be a good opportunity to learn moss stitch. No socks on order at the moment but maybe I'll make baby socks after Christmas. And someday finish the second sock on the design I created.

Oh, and my Taekwondo master wants me to teach him to knit because he likes my Shedir hat.

Gina, I think my brain has quit...I'll try to study a bit more tonight after the kids go to bed, & in the morning. This afternoon I was in the middle of reading through my notes and fell asleep; good thing I always set my phone alarm so I wasn't late getting Bailey from school.

Julie, that's why studying for many 30 minute increments works better. Less brain overload and more remembering!

Good luck!

I'm seeing a specialist for my voice tomorrow. Croak!

A class-for-class trade would be AWESOME but probably not. Honestly we haven't discussed anything like that - he just stopped me after class to ask where I got my hat (I made it), was it hard (not at all!), how did I do it (I knit it on my way to Alaska) and could I teach him (of course!). OK, could I please bring a needle next time to show him what he needs to get.
And then I wound up giving in to the temptation of going to the movies with friends (OMG I HAVE FRIENDS IN TOWN NOW!) instead of to class on Wednesday, and the world's most ridiculous honor-society induction on Friday (I was the only inductee because it was snowing like crazy and the roads were bad. But the ceremony wasn't far from my apartment, so I went for the free food. And tonight I had seven hours of freaking biostats homework to do because the lab computer sucks monkey balls. First it wouldn't start, so I did two of the three assignments on the other computer (which doesn't have the program I needed). Then I managed to get it to start, got things well under way, and the computer randomly restarted in the middle of my typing. It auto-saved my document, but not my SAS work. And it was a ridiculous, two-part assignment anyway. But, at least my other stats homework isn't due until Friday.
