Hope you're feeling better, Gina!
Julie - yay!

My attitude towards FB is, I want to choose who gets what information about me, and when. If it's good news, I want to squee about it with my girl friends. If it's bad news, maybe I need a hug in real life more than a message on my board. If it's general information, like my birthday or address? I don't post those things online. (Yes, I have a birthday listed on FB, but I know who pays attention because they wish me happy birthday on my real birthday, while the techno-addicts wish me happy birthday on the day I use online.)

It's a good tool for posting photos or distant friends and relatives to see, and it's kind of fun to see relationship status updates when people get engaged or married. But I don't feel the need to be on 24/7 like so many of my peers.

Hi friends,
Emily, I agree with you about FB. I'm careful about who sees my info. It's a great way to stay informed, for example about our friend who has cancer or when Christine was recovering.
How are you Christine?!?
I've been knitting hats for Tanner. You can get the pattern and see it here (Rav link) http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Gina...the-tanner-hat
It's my own design and it's free.

I'm recovering from the RFTC procedure on my neck. They did the left side on Friday. the right side is still pretty sore/tender and now the left side is waking up. Two more weeks and hopefully, I'll be past it.
How are y'all doing?

hi guys... I haven't knit a sock yet... but this seems like the place all the cool sock knitters hang out.

so, um, I've looked at Silver's tutorial, is that a good place to start? I'm kind of afraid I'm going to end up with a Christmas stocking, you know, the enormous ones that go on your mantle? Or else something that's vaguely L-shaped but has holes for all my anklebones to peek through? (I have bony feet.) I can knit in the round just fine, it's the heel that scares me. And picking the yarn (I'm thinking Knitpicks' Stroll? two balls for two socks?) (Oh, also, I use DPNs because they're prettier to me than circulars.)

I don't like to make bad things. Putting effort into something, I want it to turn out well.

You may also want to check out the Sockulator plug in gauge and some foot measurements and out pops a pattern.
ditto

Prayers for Christine! of course! And thanks for the update, Chris.

It seems that although posting has slowed down, many of the ASKAL regulars still pop in; so if you get stuck, just ask! We'll get you unstuck.
Heels aren't as scary as they look. Even if you struggle with one style of heel, there's a lot of different ways to do them, so don't worry!
Good luck.

Sending healing thoughts your way Christine!

I have nearly finished placement number 2. One more week and then I'm free for a little while so I can knit again.
