What a cutie!

Hope all is well with everyone.

I'm trying to finish my last big essay of the year - its really bad but it is written and I've got a couple of days to edit things. I've had the last few weeks off Uni for Easter break but we've had this essay to do so it hasn't been a great holiday - I managed about a week off but felt guilty the whole time cos I wasn't doing the essay!

How are you all?

Do any of you have a Kindle? I need opinions, I'm thinking of getting one but I'm not sure - I'm rather fond of real books so I'm not sure how often I'd use it.

Rache, I have a nook color and like it a lot. I still read hard copy books a lot, but the nook is nice particularly when traveling.

Hi friends! I've missed chatting with y'all! Let's catch up, shall we?

I've been busy TRYING to finish a shawl in time for my son's wedding on Saturday...I don't think it's going to be finished! I keep messing up and the rows are SO LONG at this point!

We've also been busy making cornice boards and getting the house ready for company. That's FINALLY done! It was quite a project. You can see pictures here if you're on FB.

I'm struggling with my son getting married. He's marrying a great gal...we love her and she's great for him, but I feel like I'm losing him. And then I cry.... My brain knows I'm not REALLY losing him, but my heart is aching.

Thanks for listening! I look forward to hearing how all of you are doing. I miss you!

Hi Gina!

Glad your son is marrying a good girl. We went to a wedding this last weekend, of a neighbor a year older than me. The dad cried. My parents and their friends were all commenting on this... "I used to think it was very silly that people cried at weddings, but now my kid(s) will be getting married soon, and now I cry at weddings too."

My dad laughed, "I don't cry at weddings," until I said, "oh, daddy, you know very well that you are going to BAWL at my wedding." And because it's true, that shut him up. lucky for him, I'm very much single (WHERE ARE ALL THE DECENT SINGLE GUYS!?). My brotherling has a serious girlfriend we all love, though, and I'm crossing my fingers that he decides to make a commitment to her. But it will probably be a while yet.

In other news, one of my best friends is pregnant! She's due January 1.

Hope all is well with everyone!

Things are pretty quiet here. Had some disappointment on the teaching front, the course didn't work out for me so I'm taking some time out to get some more experience and maybe try another course in a couple of years. Not much knitting going on, my nearest yarn store closed so I'm at a bit of a loss for where to go for supplies. I will have to resort to internet shopping I think.

Hope you are all ok.

Hi friends! Happy Independence Day for those in the US!

Hope you're all doing well. I made strawberry jam and cinnamon rolls today. There's too great a fire hazard for fireworks here. We're in an extreme drought, so if any of you getting flooded feel like sending the rain this way, we'll take it!

Emily, there are good guys out there....but hard to find...My daughter can attest to that!

Chris, congratulations on your freedom from parenthood (again)! I'm sure the student was grateful, but that would be a tough adjustment for you!

Rache, you'll find your path! Keep trying new things. Too bad about your LYS, too! We finally have one here, so it's nice to finally be able to go into a store and feel yarn!

I haven't been knitting much. I made a shawl to wear to the wedding and finished it late the night before. Otherwise, I've been dealing with shoulder pain and headaches, so not much knitting here.

How are the rest of you?

Guess what...I just started a pair of socks!

I found some 4 ply acrylic in my stash and decided that it was high time I did something with it. I'm knitting Hedera by Cookie A. Pics will follow when I'm more awake.
