I have 3 dogs, one rotating foster dog, 2 cockatiels, and 2 cats (plus my 2 human kids).
My catahoula mix & doberman (mix?) pup:
My elderly doberman with the puppy when we first got her:
My siamese:
My other cat, whose mom is the siamese:
They're all rescues. I don't think I have the birds uploaded anywhere.

I have a mixed terrier, whom I adopted from the humane society this past January. They said she would be about 10 lbs. WELL, she's 7 mos. old now, and weighs 46 lbs!! I'm about 95 lbs, and she drags me Everywhere!!! Very hyper and protective of me, but that's good since I am recently widowed. Trust me, nobody gets in my house with her around!! Her name is Shiloh, and other than dragging me around, I love her to death!! Also have 3 indoor cats, and just found a baby (mostly siamese) kitten someone dropped off in a parking lot!! Love to get my hands on that LOSER!! Never a dull moment around here! LOL

I love seeing all your photos. Used to have a Cocker that looks just like this one. No photos today but I have six retired sled dogs ten to fifteen and an elderly cat. My best friend, a red merle Aussie, died last year at fifteen.

Are your retirees from a team that you ran at one time? or have you just adopted dogs from facilities once they retire?

My retired dogs are from my own team. I quit mushing three years ago for health reasons and they are dogs I have had for several years. I definitely don't want to adopt any more! Just keeping these as long as I can. At one time I had 22 dogs.

Awesome! I got a chance to do some mushing on an Outward Bound course; it was a lot of fun (a lot of work, but who cares? I got to play with dogs!).

This is my Chloe, Coco for short. I got her from the Humane Society 2 years ago. She's part Chow (black tongue, tail curls over), part lab, part golden retriever (I see that in her pretty face and eyes). Long black hair that sheds 365 days a year!
I've also got a Boykin spaniel mix (mom was pure Boykin, daddy was a stranger in the night). Lucy's 8 months old today and such a clown! You can see by the picture of Chloe the damage Lucy bestowed on my coffee table. We had just recently refinished it from the grandkids beating on it with their toys/teething on it when they were little. Oh, well...I guess I'm doomed to never having anything nice.

KH's pets
Here's a photo of our dog, Sprocket, who is 8 years old. She wandered into our yard almost 8 years ago--can dogs tell who has a soft spot for them? She is variously called a blue heeler, catahoula, and Australian cattle dog mix. linknit41

I rescue herding dogs. Cattle dog/blue heeler is what I see. Not catahoula though (my favorite breed of dog, with cattle dogs a closer runner up).

Laura, our vet put on her papers Australian cattle dog mix, but when we are walking her around the neighborhood, people call her other things, and we set them straight! She is very sweet to us, but very protective, great watch dog. She loves raw carrots! Really enjoyed seeing every one of the pet photos. linknit41
