Your best bet is to use to find a yarn to substitue.

both solid and printed 80% merino/20% nylon wool

77 yds/50 gram ball - 80% merino wool / 20% nylon
Cameo shows off your stitches due to it's tubular structure.
Your cables and knit-purl stitch patterns never looked so good!

16 colors solid colors + 10 printed colors
3.5 - 4.5 sts/inch = 14-18 sts/10 cm
You can use the information on the Cameo yarn to search through yarndex. For example, here is a link to a list of all yarns that have a guage of 14 stitches per 4 inches, which is what Cameo is. Yarn with 14 stitches per 4 inches

If you still want to use Cameo but you can't get it locally just search on google - I was able to find these two stores that sell Cameo and will ship to Canada....

Yarn Market will ship internationally.

Jimmy Bean's Wool will also ship internationally.

Good luck!

After some searching I was able to find the CP Cameo yarn. It's looks like it's a flat ribbon type yarn.

So you take what you know from that info and go to and search to find the same type of yarn.

BTW, it looks like that yarn site linked above can ship internationally if you want that yarn.

ETA: Sara beat me to it!

When asking questions ALWAYS post the name and a link for the pattern if you have it.

I made that scarf for a Christmas present. I used about one and a half skeins of Malabrigo. I cast on 18 stitches just like the pattern suggests, and I really liked the way it turned out. I will definately make it again. I'm sorry I didn't take a picture of it before I gifted it.

I used Berrocco Pleasure to knit the Cameo Shell Stitch Shawl on the Crystal Palace website. It was a pretty good substitute. The yarn (pleasure) has a lot of angora so it will shed a little; and the stitch definition wasn't quite as detailed as I would have liked.
