Were the speckled red & white blocks done by hold two strands together?
I read your notes where you said that there was a lot of seaming and weaving of ends. I wonder, could this blanket be knit all in one piece?
Casting on across the row, using a different skein for each block, and then joining the 'fenceline' with the intarsia technique. Then when the first row is done, just change to different skeins, and work your way up the hill!
Anyway, whatever you did, you really DID IT WELL!
I'd sorta like to avoid seaming and 'ends' taking into consideration what you said!
Anyway, the burgundy and white and speckled squares were perfection! I really love it! It's simple, but beautiful! There is a lot of beauty in simplicity! "Less is more" as the old saying goes!
